Hello from Sunny NZ!

Okay hi. It’s been a minute. And wow, what a time it’s been! I’ll give you a quick run through and then a lil insert from my journal! Just cause I really don’t want to forget this!!!!

Okay ready?

Flew to auckland. Tabea picked me up. Hung out in Aucks, went down the coast to Jack’s bach, stopped in Tauranga on the way home, hiked the mount, got in a strangers car and swam around the Coromandel, went back to Aucks, laughed hard, went south. Met gareth (owner of the van), road tripped through coromandel, to the beaches again, through taupo, to napier. Left Gareth with a heavy heart and headed south again. Got to wellington, met lovely photographer friends and got very little sleep. But stunning photos of sunrise hikes. Took a ferry to picton, hitch hiked with germans, met pilots in wine country, hitched down the entire coast, made it to christchurch. Merry xmas to me. Then off to queenstown, met more friends, rented a car, didn’t sleep for a hike, took photos of a tree, road tripped to mt cook, lupine fields in tekapo, took astros in wanaka, and left again. Now i’m in queenstown, awaiting nye. Love it. LOOOOVE IT.

Here’s an excerpt from my travel journal on the ferry ride to picton from wellington. Sums it up pretty well, I think!

I love this feeling. I feel it in my heart, in my soul, as my skin crawls with excitement. I love the adventure and the new and the extraordinary and that no matter what, at the end of the day, I am living. I am so extraordinarily happy, and every second of growth and challenge and independence makes this whole experience even better. I love it.

I’m on the ferry, editing as always, watching the world go by outside and watching people go on with their lives. I love the excitement and the weird and the uniqueness in it all. Everyone is on the edge of their seats.. a cumulatively anxious community of ready, stoked, pumped and individual. We all feel the same blood pumping through our veins but we look around as strangers, rather than the cumulative community that we really are.. What a crazy experience. The human consciousness, the collective consciousness. I love it all.

I want this feeling to never leave. Sometimes I wake up and feel exactly where I’m supposed to be. In this moment, in every moment, in every breathe. This is my most extraordinary life. And what a life it really is. “
